Spring Recital, 2000 - Da Vinci Quartet Spring Recital, 2000 was a historic meeting of Colorado Springs' two premier chamber ensembles. The Da Vinci String Quartet shared this recital with us. We promised not to play too loud and fulfilled this promise! We performed Igor Stravinsky's work entitled "In Memoriam - Dylan Thomas" for trombone quartet, string quartet, and tenor soloist. The mere existence of this work by a major composer prompted this recital which will also featured several transcribed works by J.S. Bach, on the 250th anniversary of his death. Also featured were works by Marjorie Van Hoy, mother of HATQ's bass trombonist and a new arrangement of Robert Spillman's "All-Day Meeting and Dinner on the Ground", the title track on HATQ's CD.
