The Gershwin Bootleg

On September 16, 2001, the Quartet and friends present a program called "High Altitude Gershwin."  Since then, we have had numerous requests for recordings of that program, so we have decided to make the live recording made that day available in a limited CD pressing.

The regular Quartet of Joe Martin, Jeff Craig, Bill Holst, and Jeremy Van Hoy was joined that day by a great rhythm section consisting of John Turner - piano, Marc Neihof - bass,  and Henrique De Almeida - drums.  Our scheduled guest for the day, Wycliffe Gordon, was stuck on the East Coast due to the 9/11 disaster.  Ryan Haines, jazz trombonist with the Air Force Band of the Rockies Falconaires, filled in admirably.
